Methods: This was an applied research study with a descriptiveexplanatory design and a quantitative approach. The study included 12 soil specimens compacted in molds following the CBR test procedure (ASTM D-1883). Sugarcane molasses was added in proportions of 2 %, 4 %, and 6 % by dry weight to evaluate its effect on soil bearing capacity. Results: Soil bearing capacity increased by 4.32 % and 1.72 % for the 2 % and 4 % molasses additions, respectively, whereas a 6 % addition resulted in a -3.56 % decrease. Conclusions: Sugarcane molasses improves soil bearing capacity when used in moderate proportions. The 2 % addition increased resistance by 4.32 %, while the 4 % addition resulted in a smaller 1.72 % increase. However, the 6 % addition led to a -3.56 % reduction. The 2 % proportion is optimal for improving soil stability without compromising its mechanical properties.
José Miguel Rodriguez Trejo Hugo Serrano Rodas Copyright (c) 2025 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-06-12 2025-06-12 13 2 10.51431/bbf.v13i2.994 Outsourcing of tasks and its influence on production efficiency at the San Bernardo Agroindustrial Corporation S.A.C. https://revistas.unjfsc.edu.pe/index.php/BIGBANG/article/view/995
Objective: To determine the relationship between outsourcing and production efficiency at the San Bernardo Agroindustrial Corporation S.A.C. Methods: The research was developed under a quantitative, basic approach, with a non-experimental design, with a correlational level. The population consisted of 25 workers from all areas of the company. A measuring instrument was used to collect data. Statistical analysis was carried out using Spearman's Rho correlation coefficient, and the data were processed with JAMOVI version 2.6 26.0 software. Results: The results indicated a highly significant correlation between outsourcing and production efficiency (all ≥ 0.75) and a p-value of ˂ 0.001. The results regarding operational efficiency and product quality reported a very high level of 34.67 % and 34.22 % respectively. Regarding job stability and operating time, they reported a moderate level, with 40.44 % and 38.22 %, respectively. Conclusion: It is concluded that there is a highly significant correlation between outsourcing and production efficiency at Corporación Agroindustrial San Bernardo S.A.C.
Gladys Vega Ventocilla Luisa Pando Malpartida Milen Celina Pizarro Nicho Angie Nicole Ortega Armas Sarita Fiorela Melgar Obregón Ronell Augusto Chipayo Concha Fátima del Rosario Ardían Ortiz Copyright (c) 2025 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-06-12 2025-06-12 13 2 10.51431/bbf.v13i2.995 Thermal behavior of walls insulated with polystyrene https://revistas.unjfsc.edu.pe/index.php/BIGBANG/article/view/996
Objective: This research determined the thermal behavior in walls coated with polystyrene (beads). Methods: The methodological study is applied type, quantitative approach, non-experimental design of descriptive level. The materials used for its execution were those that make up the mortar (water, aggregate, cement) in addition to the polystyrene beads; it is also worth mentioning that a thermo-hygrometer was used for recording internal temperature data of the prototypes; the samples were two prototypes at a scale of 1:20 representing a house; one coated with conventional mortar and the other with modified mortar. Results: They verified that the addition of 9% with expanded polystyrene (EPS beads and/or expanded polystyrene) in relation to the aggregate (fine aggregate) in a dosage of 1:4 (water: cement ratio) of mortars for wall plastering provides thermal insulation properties to the walls internally coated with this modified mix design. Conclusion: The wall coatings with the proposed modified mix design in the research show better thermal behavior compared to a conventional or traditional mortar design for wall plastering, thus confirming that the thermal behavior in walls coated with polystyrene is optimal and/or effective.
Thalia Katalina García Álvarez Cristian Milton Mendoza Flores Sleyther Arturo De La Cruz Vega Copyright (c) 2025 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-06-12 2025-06-12 13 2 10.51431/bbf.v13i2.996 Formulation and Preparation of a Functional Drink Based on Vitis aestivalis-cinerea x Vitis vinífera (Uvina) juice and Cucumis sativus (Cucumber) extract https://revistas.unjfsc.edu.pe/index.php/BIGBANG/article/view/997
Objective: The study aims to determine the optimal formulation for the development of a functional beverage based on the juice of Vitis aestivalis-cinerea × Vitis vinifera (uvina) and Cucumis sativus (cucumber) extract. Methods: Four formulations were developed, and the response surface methodology was used to determine the optimal mixture through sensory evaluation using a hedonic scale. The antioxidant activity of the optimal beverage was determined using the ABTS method, polyphenolic compounds with the Folin-Ciocalteu (FC) assay, ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) content with the 2,6-dichlorophenolindophenol dye, and anthocyanins using the pH differential method. Results: The optimal formulation consists of 55 % uvina juice, 43 % pineapple water diluent, 10 % camu camu for pH adjustment, and 2 % cucumber extract, achieving an antioxidant capacity of 17.961 µMol ET/100 ml, total polyphenols of 0.915 mg GAE/100 ml, ascorbic acid content of 42.175 mg/100 ml, and anthocyanins of 138.751 mg AT/100 ml. Conclusions: A functional beverage with acceptable sensory characteristics was obtained, providing a significant source of vitamin C, anthocyanins, total polyphenols, and antioxidant capacity.
Abel Jaime Gonzales Pachas Danton Jorge Miranda Cabrera Francisco Bernardino Rojas Ruiz Percy Bernardo Sulca Martínez Copyright (c) 2025 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-06-12 2025-06-12 13 2 10.51431/bbf.v13i2.997 Seismic vulnerability analysis to determine the status of single-family homes in the Atalaya Human Settlement, Huacho District, 2023 https://revistas.unjfsc.edu.pe/index.php/BIGBANG/article/view/998
In Huacho, the city's continuous growth has reduced the availability of land for new housing, leading many families—both local and migrant—to settle in peripheral areas. These areas often lack proper evaluations to determine whether they are suitable for building, which increases the seismic vulnerability of the region. Objective: To determine the level of vulnerability of single-family homes in the Atalaya Human Settlement, district of Huacho, and to identify how vulnerable these dwellings are to seismic hazards. Methods: This study followed a basic methodology with a quantitative approach and a non-experimental, descriptive, cross-sectional design. A sample of 85 single-family homes was assessed to understand their characteristics in the Atalaya settlement. Results: Findings show that 50% of the homes present a very high level of vulnerability; 23.26% a high level; 18.60% a moderate level; and 8.14% a low level of vulnerability. Conclusion: The predominant construction material used is adobe, which is highly vulnerable due to the absence of a proper structural system, thereby increasing the seismic vulnerability of the homes. The area's soil is mostly rocky with some clayey portions, as the settlement is located on a hillside.
Karla Milagros Marin Zapata Henry Joseph Del Castillo Villacorta Copyright (c) 2025 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-06-12 2025-06-12 13 2 10.51431/bbf.v13i2.998
