Resumen

The fundamental aim of our fieldwork was to make a archeo astronomic study inthe Chaupihuaranga valley located in the Rocco populated centre (YanahuancaDistrict, Daniel Carrión Province, in Pasco) where is found two ceremonialcentres in the Goñicutac's archaeological complex, located among the 3, 750metres above sea level. Both were related to the sidereal space, the Temple ofthe Moon and the Yacana also named the celestial llama. As for methodology, any research with regard to the Andean constellations, itmust start since how these societies have used scientific technologies that werewithin their reach, as well as the observation of the sky and the connection of thisone with various natural cycles that have had great importance with theimprovement of the standard of living of these Yaros and Yachas's ethnic units. As result we will say that the Temple of the Moon, orientated towards the sideEast (exit of the Sun) that is situated to an end of the enclosure of semicircularform, located in a platform that ends in the front with an anthropomorphous figure(Wiracocha human head). This personage in the top part of the head takes aplumage of worked stone and cut by the centre, it was fulfilled a very important role during the rituals and sacrifices since here is beheaded to theanimals or prisoners in honor to the moon (lunar months and their phases) Andeach of these had a big influence on the natural cycles that had a greatimportance in the improvement of the standard of living of these inhabitants, because since ancient times Yaros Yachas's ethnic units already knew theinfluence that the moon exerted on crops specially during the period of sowingand harvest. On the other hand, towards the South is situated the Yacana, themythical animal, also named the celestial llama sat in the shape of illa, orientatedtowards the West side (where the Sun is disappeared). In its entrails a funeral chamber is situated, done specially to shelter those of thehigh class. This way the cyclical rite is fulfilled to return to the entrails of themythical animal to transport them to the trip of the eternal return (Kay Pacha) toreturn to govern
