Abstract

Objectives: To improve the extraction of juice in the mills and to decrease the humidity andbagasse pol in the area of trapiche. Methods: Type of research: applied - technological. Thepopulation consisted of all level control systems. The sample was Level Control System basedon a PID controller. A data record sheet for mills was developed as a data collection tool.Results: Configuring parameters for the mill level control system was achieved. It decreased%pol of bagasse by 0.23 and %humidity of bagasse by 0.4 percentage points. Combustion inthe boiler and hence sugar production were improved. Conclusions: The configuration ofparameters of the PID controller improves the level control system while maintaining an optimalcontrol of shredded rod load within each chute. It was possible to optimize the extractionprocess of cane juice and therefore to reduce the percentage of pol and humidity in thebagasse, thus improving the combustion of the boiler.
