Objective. To evaluate the diagnosis, quantification, and characterization of municipal solid waste arriving at theChilepampa municipal landfill. Methodology. This descriptive study seeks to characterize the current state of theChilepampa solid waste landfill. Results. A high proportion of organic and recyclable waste was found, but with poorfinal disposal practices, such as a lack of segregation. In economic terms, the study identified opportunities tooptimize operating costs and improve budgetary efficiency. From a social perspective, the negative impact oncommunities near the landfill and on the environment was highlighted. It is essential to implement a comprehensivewaste management system, promote recovery through recycling and composting, strengthen the operationalinfrastructure of the landfill, and encourage citizen participation. Conclusion. The Chilepampa landfill meets basicoperational requirements, but its critical infrastructure deficiencies and lack of segregation undermine its efficiencyand increase damage to the environment.Downloads
